SHILOH- Review of one of my favorite Book

SHILOH

The book name is Shiloh written by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. This book is all about a boy Marty and his dog whose name is Shiloh. Shiloh is written in the first-person point of view. The narrator is Marty himself. He was telling about his favorite place and how he met with the dog and how he feels when he first saw him. The novel is very well written. Author tries to hold the interest in reader.

In my opinion, I can imagine the whole background and the scenery which is narrated by the little boy Marty. He likes to walk in the river side. He first saw him across the ratty bridge by the old Shiloh schoolhouse and which follows the river. He describes the whole scenario and also the way he looked at the dog. Personally, I love dog that’s why I choose this novel. The author creates a very good description of a friendly dog, how he slinking his tails between his legs like he's hardly got the right to breathe. When Marty  puts out his hand he was backing off and cringing. he is sure the dog's owner by Judd Travers is abusing him. Marty feels protective of the dog. He named him Shiloh because he met with him in the place called Old Shiloh Schoolhouse.

I read only three of this chapters but I am so glad that I choose this book. Because I can feel all the moments. And I can visualize the place and the dog Shiloh also. How Marty describes everything and how he understand the feelings of an animal who actually can not say anything. The description of Shiloh I can see the face of a gentle and friendly dog of Marty. Marty faced many problems but when, he feels that the dog Shiloh feels safe with him then he took all the troubles on his head but he decided that he will never leave him alone. He keeps the dog in secret for fear of being caught by his family or Judd.

The book Shiloh shows a wonderful bond between Marty and Shiloh. Firstly, I choose the novel because I love dogs. This book is very emotional book and I can relate many things and I must say now I can feel my puppy’s feelings too. I love this novel. This is for pet lover and also for them who does not like pets or afraid from dogs. They will fall in love with the bond and the friendship of Marty and Shiloh.
